Molly Kate Burns has athletics running through her veins. As the only child of a legendary basketball coach, it’s no surprise that Molly Kate has chosen to enter the realm of athletics while a student at Jasper High School in Jasper, Alabama.
The daughter of Heath and Katy Burns, Molly Kate has found success in three sports: cheering as a back spot and main base, throwing the javelin in track and field, and pitching in softball.
And while she only picked up track and cheer last year and started softball this school year, her ability to jump in and thrive in each of these arenas speaks to her natural athleticism and drive to give her best in everything she does.

What Molly Kate loves most about being an athlete at Jasper is the sense of family she feels within her teams.
“Having supportive teammates who are like a second family is great,” she says. “It’s something I can always look forward to after school.”

Outside of school and sports, Molly Kate says her hobbies are making TikTok videos and her favorite weekend activity is hanging out with friends. Her favorite restaurant is McDonald’s and her go-to snack is Goldfish.
Looking ahead, Molly Kate plans to attend nursing school and pursue a labor and delivery nursing career.
With her determination and the work ethic she’s developed as an athlete, it’s clear that Molly Kate is poised to achieve whatever she sets her mind to. TG
