Alabama Football documentary Nothing But A Winner is releasing on video-on-demand (VOD) beginning Friday, September 19, 2025.
The film recently concluded its nationwide release with Fathom Entertainment in over 820 cities, earning a 97% on Rotten Tomatoes with rave reviews from fans and critics. The documentary now expands to the premium rental window with additional streaming platforms to be added later this year.
Nothing But A Winner tells the definitive story of the the University of Alabama Crimson Tide football team. The feature documentary explores the origin of the culture of winning, pioneered by the legendary coach Paul “Bear” Bryant, and features first-hand accounts from players spanning five decades, including Nick Saban’s era of dominance.
Former Alabama All-American and current NFL star and Baltimore Raven Marlon Humphrey, along with his sister, Breona, served as the documentary’s executive producers and financed the majority of the project. Marlon and Breona’s father, former Alabama and NFL running back Bobby Humphrey, also provides an integral voice in the film.
Actor Caleb Castille, who played defensive back under Saban at Alabama, served as a producer for Nothing But A Winner. Caleb’s father, Jeremiah Castille, who played defensive back under Bryant and later served as the Alabama team chaplain, is also a key feature in the film. Together, the Castilles and the Humphreys sought to capture the multi-generational impact and powerful ties that the football program has created.
