Undefeated and two-time defending state champion Hoover High School (AL) is drawing national attention for its exploits on the hardwood. The Buccaneers (15-0) are ranked 25th in the latest ESPN poll of the Top 25 high school basketball teams in the country, and 7th in the nation by MaxPreps.
Hoover features a talented roster of players that will compete at the next level. Back in November, Bucs forward Dwayne Brown II signed with the University of Tennessee, while guard Salim London signed with the University of Alabama Birmingham (UAB). Class of 2026 center Jackson Sheffield has received an offer from Mississippi State University.
This week, Hoover hosts the 16-team Big Orange Classic, a three-day event featuring teams from Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee.
