The University of Alabama golf team just beefed up its roster for the 2026-27 season. Three-time Rolex Junior All-American and Cullman, Ala., native Bailey Sutter has signed with the Crimson Tide.
“Bailey is a former camper that I have had the privilege to watch mature and grow as a player,” said Alabama head golf coach Jay Seawell. “A goal we have always had is that we want to build Alabama golf around the best players in our state. Bailey is the best player in our state, and I am honored to have him as part of our program.”
The accolades are many for Sutter, who won the 2025 Alabama State Amateur by a four-shot margin with a 17-under 271 (65-68-68-70). He also captured medalist honors at the 5A Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) Championship, winning by five strokes over his brother, Rawlin.
In 2025, he has collected five top-five finishes, including a fifth-place finish at the Ralph Lauren Junior Classic at Bethpage State Park Golf Courses – Black Course in Farmingdale, New York.
He is a three-time Alabama Golf Association (AGA) all-state honoree, earning first-team honors in both 2023 and 2024.
Last year, Sutter finished as runner-up at the 2024 Boys Junior PGA Championship and was runner-up in the 2024 Alabama Boys State Junior at Wynlakes Golf & Country Club in Montgomery, Alabama.
Currently, he is ranked No. 17 in the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) rankings.
“Bailey’s love of the game and his competitiveness are what I believe separates him from other players. I look forward to having these characteristics infused into our team,” Seawell added. TG
