Alabama Women Bounce Back, Defeat Arkansas

The University of Alabama women’s basketball team dropped its SEC opener against South Carolina on Thursday by 26 points. On Sunday, the Tide won by 29, defeating Arkansas, 77-48, at Coleman Coliseum in Tuscaloosa.

Alabama held Arkansas to only 10 points in the second quarter and dominated the glass with a 48-37 edge.

The Crimson Tide (15-1, 1-1 SEC) was paced by Ta’Mia Scott’s 16, while Essence Cody added 15.

“I’m really proud of our team’s response today. It was an amazing and tremendous effort as they executed the game plan,” said Alabama head coach Kristy Curry.

Arkansas (11-6, 0-2 SEC) was led by Taleyah Jones and Bonnie Deas, who scored 9 points apiece in the loss.

Up next for Alabama is a home game versus the Kentucky Wildcats at Coleman Coliseum on Thursday, Jan. 8, with tipoff set for 6 p.m. CT on SEC Network+. TG
