Alabama is slated to face the Arizona Wildcats in the 2025 C.M. Newton Classic presented by TriGreen Equipment, which will be held on December 13 at Birmingham’s Legacy Arena. Knight Eady, a full-service creative agency based out of Birmingham, along with the University of Alabama men’s basketball program, announced the matchup this week.

“We are excited to return to Birmingham and face one of the premier programs in the country in Arizona,” Alabama head basketball coach Nate Oats said. “The C.M. Newton Classic provides an amazing atmosphere, and we are looking forward to playing in front of Tide fans while honoring Coach Newton’s legacy and the impact he made on the University of Alabama and our sport.”

This will be the fifth year in a row the C.M. Newton Classic has been played in Birmingham. The results of the previous matchups are as follows:
2024-25 Alabama 100, Illinois 87
2023-24 Alabama 101, Liberty 56
2022-23 Gonzaga 100, Alabama 90
2021-22 Davidson 79, Alabama 78
Alabama is 3-2 all-time versus Arizona and the 2025-26 Wildcats are coached by Tommy Lloyd, the 2022 NABC National Coach of the Year.
