Auburn Signs JUCO Star Abdul Bashir

Auburn men’s basketball’s latest transfer is Abdul Bashir, one of the top-performing junior college players in the country.

Bashir, a 6 ‘7 forward out of Casper College in Casper, Wyoming, is a natural scorer, averaging 27.2 points per game on 41.4 percent shooting from the floor, 36.8 percent from the three-point line and 87.7 from the charity stripe.

Bashir amassed four 40-point games for the Thunderbirds with a career high of 49 points against Laramie County Community College on Feb. 28.

“Abdul is a special talent,” Auburn head coach Bruce Pearl said. “If he can see it, he can make it. Falling in line with some of the great shooters we’ve had here at Auburn. He has great length, instinct and feel for the game. With three years of eligibility, I am excited about Abdul working on his body, improving his skills and becoming a dominant player.”

Bashir is a native of Omaha, Nebraska, who played high school ball for Colorado Prep in Westminster, Colorado. TG
