University of Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe has been named the winner of the 2024 William V. Campbell Trophy. The announcement was made by the National Football Foundation (NFF) on Tuesday at the Bellagio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Milroe, one of 16 finalists for the award, will receive a $25,000 postgraduate scholarship from the NFF, along with the prestigious trophy.

The William V. Campbell Trophy is presented annually to college football’s premier scholar-athlete, recognizing the absolute best in the nation for combined academic success, football performance, and exemplary leadership.
Here are a few of Milroe’s accomplishments since arriving on the Alabama campus in 2021:
– Two-time team captain who helped the Crimson Tide to two College Football Playoff appearances and a pair of Southeastern Conference (SEC) championships.
– Has amassed 77 total touchdowns during his Crimson Tide career, throwing for 5,824 yards and 44 scores while rushing for 1,570 yards and 33 touchdowns.
– Graduated cum laude in December 2023 with a 3.52 grade-point average and will complete his master’s degree in sport management this December.
– Earned spot on the President’s List and Dean’s List multiple times while at the university.
– Three-time selectee to the SEC Academic Honor Roll.
– Named to the 2023 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.
– A consistent contributor to the Tide’s community service efforts, Milroe volunteers his time in both the Tuscaloosa community and his hometown of Katy, Texas.
– Represented Alabama at the joint meeting of the SEC Student-Athlete Leadership Council and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

Milroe becomes just the second player in Crimson Tide history to receive the Campbell, joining offensive lineman Barrett Jones who was honored with the award in 2012. TG
