UAH Outlasts AUM Behind Murr’s 41

The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) Chargers won their 25th consecutive game on Thursday, squeaking by the Auburn University-Montgomery (AUM) Warhawks by a score of 106-104. UAH senior guard and Athens, Ala., native Tommy Murr pumped in 41 points on 17-for-23 shooting and also dished out 8 assists and grabbed 6 boards.

Daniel Saylor added 15 points and 9 rebounds for the Chargers, while Luke Burnett chipped in 14, including 4-for-8 from behind the arc. Blake Campbell had 12 points, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds.

Four AUM players scored at least 20 points in the narrow loss. Chappelle Whitney led the way with 24 points, and Jamarious Martin (22), Trent Coleman (22), and Max Ndiaye (20) also posted big scoring numbers.

The Chargers improve to 25-1 (20-0 Gulf South Conference) and the Warhawks fell to 9-15 (6-13 GSC). Next up for UAH is road game at Montevallo on Feb. 22. AUM hosts West Alabama that same afternoon. TG
